Sergeant Major (SGM) Lorine M. Mosley:

SGM Mosley was born in Dermott, Arkansas. She spent most of her youth in Detroit, Michigan. Later, returned to Dermott and graduated from Dermott High School in 1985. SGM Mosley received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management in 2004 from Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a 2016 graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas.

SGM Mosley began her military career by enlisting in the Arkansas Army National Guard in March 1986 in Company C, 212th Signal Battalion where she served as a Network Combat Radio Operator. In October of 1989, she enlisted into the United States Army. Her initial duty station was at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. She was assigned to the United States Military Academy Preparatory School Cadre as the Orderly Room Unit Clerk.

In 1994, SGM Mosley returned to the Arkansas Army National Guard and was assigned to the 87th Troop Command. While assigned to the 87th Troop Command, SGM Mosley served in various duty position assignments. In December 1999, SGM Mosley moved to Atlanta, Georgia and joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Decatur, Georgia. She was assigned to the 108th Instructional Training Command and received her certification as a Small Group Instructor. She later transferred to the 4th RCS, Army Reserve Unit at Camp Pike, North Little Rock, Arkansas. During this assignment, she instructed Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) Training and Basic Noncommissioned Officer Training for Nuclear, Biological and Warfare Certifications.

In 2004, SGM Mosley returned to the Arkansas Army National Guard and was hired into the Active Guard/ Reserve (AGR) Program. She was assigned as a Recruiter in the Recruiting and Retention Command. During her tenure in the AGR Program, SGM Mosley served in various positions to include the Personnel Resources Noncommissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC), 35th Aviation Brigade and the Plans Section, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations. In 2014, SGM Mosley was assigned to the 77th Aviation Brigade and mobilized with the Brigade to Kuwait.

Upon returning from deployment, SGM Mosley was assigned to the Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel as the Enlisted Promotion Manager. In December 2017, SGM Mosely was promoted to Sergeant Major and assigned as the G1 Sergeant Major for the Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel, Joint Force Headquarters, Arkansas. She was the first African American Female in the history of the Arkansas Army National Guard, in an AGR status, assigned to the G1 Sergeant Major position.

SGM Mosley’s professional military education includes Basic Combat Training, Advanced Individual Training, Primary Leadership Development Course, Small Group Instructors Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Academy Course, Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officer Course, and the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy.

SGM Mosely retired from the Arkansas Army National Guard in August 2020 and currently resides in Austin, Arkansas.
